I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to you. Your trust and presence allow me to immerse myself in the wonderful occupation of massage therapy and bodywork, which brings me so much joy and humbles me every day.
Life is full of surprises and so it happens that I started out my new year with a pretty nasty fracture of my left wrist. While a lot is still unclear in terms of timelines and prognosis, I am confident that this is a perfect opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and embrace the silver lining.
To read the long version of what will happen at my little shop keep on reading, to cut right to the essential info about temporary schedule and services click here: Services
For quite some time I have felt the call to incorporate new modalities and fresh approaches to my services... but I got caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life.. or so I say.. maybe the truth is that I did not feel confident enough to step out of my comfort zone. Now I have been given the time and the opportunity to do so.
When that bone cracked something in my mind clicked. Holding a throbbing weirdly shaped wrist in my good hand, I intuitively knew that the best thing to do was just trusting the process. Not engaging in all the ‘what ifs and if onlys’. Not fretting about the recent past that led up to this little accident. Not worrying about the consequences in the near future. I just stayed in the present moment and let a higher intelligence take over. I felt a deep calm and became an observer.
Now that I am on my healing journey I am deeply in touch with this divine intelligence inside me that is diligently at work repairing bone and ligament. I understand that I need to get out of my own way, knowing that He who created this body knows how to mend it. Trusting that my current situation is for my greatest good if I accept it.
Obviously I am grateful for those skilled first responders and other medical professionals who took care of me. While we all rely on conventional and alternative medicine and its practitioners, I believe we need to create more space and awareness within ourselves to let this divine innate force heal us, physically and emotionally. I am grateful to have been granted the time to meditate and reflect on this subject and am looking forward to sharing whatever I learn.
Meanwhile we all know that motion is lotion and although I will work less hours and move slower I will offer a temporary service menu.
Please note that 1-handed massage is not something I have ever done before and I want to set expectations right. While I feel confident that my relaxation massages will be about 60% of what you are used to, that number plunges to about 30% when it comes to deep tissue massage.
Hence I have rummaged a little through my dusty tool box and came up with some themed sessions that will help me feel more comfortable with my limited capabilities and (hopefully) enhance your experience.
Please do not feel obligated to get any of those massages, I do need rest. But if you feel inclined to do so I will be happy to see you.
A note to my VA clients: We can implement nutrition, lifestyle coaching, mindfulness and restorative yoga into our mt sessions. Please give me a heads up in what you are interested so I can tailor the session to your needs. I understand that a lot of you are in pain and you may need a two handed therapist. Let me know and I will get in touch with the VA to find a solution.
General note: If you have limited mobility and rely on my help to get on, off or change position on the table, for your security we will have to hold off for the time being.
Online booking is temporarily disabled - please call or text to book your session. Thank you fot your understanding.
